One month old

Allison is a fantastic eater and sleeper. She nurses every 2-3 hours and will cluster feed (1-1.5 hours) once a day with a longer stretch (4 hours) between feeds with the naps. At night she will go 3-5.5 hours between feeds. We have to wake her up to take/pick up Davis from school. She doesn't mind waiting to eat though.

At one month old, she was over 7 pounds 8 ounces on the home scale. She is usually awake and alert for about an hour when she first gets up in the morning.  After morning nap and in the early evening she will be alert for a couple of hours. Most nights she will go right back to sleep after nursing.

Davis calls her Allison Brittany and Luke calls her Baby Allison. They love holding her!

One month old

Luke is a fantastic eater and sleeper! He nurses every 1.5-3.5 hours during the day and will usually go 3.5-5 hours at night between feeds (some nights we have two 5 hour stretches!). At one month old, he weighs 9 pounds 5 ounces!! Newborn clothes are starting to get snug so we will be moving him to size 0-3 months.

He is usually awake and alert for close to a hour when he firsts gets up in the morning. After morning nap and in the early evening he will be alert for a couple of hours. Most nights he will go right back to sleep after nursing.

We have him in a good routine in that he gets a bath between 1900-2000 every night

 I try to have him in bed within 30 minutes of Davis going to bed for naps and bedtime. He sleeps in his pack n play at night and for afternoon nap. For the other naps he'll sleep on his tummy, curled up on someone's chest, or in the swing. I plan on starting to have him nap in the crib.

Davis is doing great with Luke. He loves to sit next to him or curl up under the gym with a book. Davis calls him, "Lukey"

One month old

Since about a week and a half old Davis has been sleeping 5-7 hours a night and goes 3-4 hours between feeds during the day. The exception is this week he has been eating every 1-2 hours during the day.

Hopefully this growth spurt will help him get back to his birth weight. I weighed him on Friday and he was 7# 0.6. oz :( After feeding him he was 7#4 oz.so we have just been feeding, feeding, feeding this weekend. We will get him reweighed on Monday and go from there.

It is amazing how much stronger Davis gets everyday. He loves to hold his head up and stare at whoever is holding him.

When he is gassy he will push his legs straight out. He really likes to have Daddy's hands against his feet and then he can really push up as if to stand. Gripe water has been a wonderful thing in helping him with gas.

Davis goes to bed for the night between 2230 and midnight. We are working on getting bedtime to be earlier. He sleeps in his pack n play at night and takes his naps in the crib, being held or curled up on someones chest. If he wakes up for a feeding in the night, I can usually get him right back to sleep after nursing.

 

 It is hard to believe that one month has gone by already. As the book that I read to Davis every night (Thank you Mr. David and Mrs. Suzi) says, "You are very loved, my little one!"
