Quarantine Homeschool

We ask the boys “How was your day at school today?” at dinner every night. They usually reply, “Good or great!” Then we can get some more info out of them about their day.

Today it went like this,
“How was your day at (home) school?”
Luke: “ Horrible!” He then explained it was horrible because he did too much work!

I then asked Davis thinking I’d get better feedback.
“How was your day at (home) school?”
Davis: “Devastating!”

Luke Growth

 6 year:
Luke is almost 4 ft tall. 47.75 in. (82%) and weighs 53 pounds (81%).
Gained 8 pounds and grew 2.5 inches in a year

5 year:
45.4 pounds 85%
3 feet 9.25 45.25 inches 74%

Gained 6 pounds and grew almost 3 inches in a year

4 year:
38 pounds, 12.8 ounces 71%
3 feet, 6.36 inches 86%. 42.36 inches

           4 pounds, 5 inches

3 year:

            4 pounds, almost 2 inches

Mama to Davis: “Are you excited about tomorrow?”
Davis “I am excited! I can’t wait.”

Luke starts school tomorrow so I told him I am going to miss him so much!

He then said: “Well you’re gonna miss me when I get a house because I’m gonna live in Florida. I will be going to the pool!”

August 2018:
Luke had a preschool activity tonight. Ms Cartney was teaching him a game and said to pick out 10 dice. He picked them out one at a time and put them with the numbers 1-6 lined up perfectly.

September 2018
Told Luke that Davis would walk him to class. He said he didn’t need to cause I know the way! He’s pretty adamant about ‘walking himself’ to class!

First day of PreK! His teacher told me he said his name is Lukey, not Luke!

November 2018:
I was singing Jesus Loves Me to Brother tonight before bed

“...they are weak, but He is strong. Yes...”

Luke: “Wait a minute. God is strong like me?”

Happy 3rd Birthday, Luke

Sleeps 10 hours at night, takes a 1.5 hour-2 hour nap in the afternoon, he is usually up by 0700.We put both boys to bed by 2000. They talk for a few minutes before going to bed.

He takes a nap between 1230-1455 when we have to pick Davis up from school. Most days he plays a little bit before nap.

At his three year appointment with Dr. Shockley, weighed 34 pounds 13 ounces (79% for kids his age) and was 38.29 inches tall (71%). He gained almost 5 pounds and grew almost 2 inches taller in the last year!

The house is so quiet when Davis is at school but I think he enjoys playing by himself!

He loves Allison, he calls her Baby Allison. When I nurse her he likes to play with the Alphabet game.

Can say his ABCs and can count to twelve. (he gets 7 and 11 mixed up)

Loves puzzles, he will work on them for a long time and is so proud when he is done.

Happy 3rd Birthday, Luke!

Luke was so excited for his birthday. He wanted a Paw Patrol birthday.He laughed and laughed when we sang Happy Birthday to him! Remember last year?

Shares a room with Davis. At first we put them to bed at different times but found that Luke just sits in his bed waiting for Davis to come to bed. Now we put them both to bed by 2000.

Likes to pick out his shirt to wear, often asks for the same one every day! Dinosaur shirt and Thomas shirt are his favorites.

On our trip to Florida in July, all 4 of the last molars started cutting through.

Sings Farmer and the Dell and Paw Patrol theme song.

• Brother has been referring to himself by his nickname for a few weeks. This morning I said, "Come on, baby, let's go upstairs."  He said, "I'm not baby. I'm Lukey bear."

• On our trip to Florida he would ask Aunt Jen's dog Maddie to "Come here a second." He calls Grampa, "Hoopa"

• He does great saying Thank You. We are working on Please, Yes Ma'am and No Sir. 
• Davis would cry when I dropped him off at school. The first week of school Luke would start crying because Davis was! The next week he would just ask, "Davis crying?" when we left.

Favorite foods: Yogurt, Peanut butter and jelly, strawberries, blueberries, grapes, applesauce, pasta, cheese. 

• We have to remind him to close his eyes when we are praying. This is his face when he closes them!

He knows his colors and can count into the teens.

Favorite TV show is Thomas. Also likes to watch Paw Patrol and Blaze with Davis. Loves watching Wheels on the Bus  from Mother Goose Club on Youtube.

He misses Davis when he is at school and asks about him often.

Loves grocery shopping at Fareway. I let him use the kid sized cart and he pushes it around the whole store. He helps the cashier empty the cart. While I pay he returns the cart to the front of the store and then runs back to us.

Sweet boy

Luke's church teacher told us he was so sweet and showed compassion to a little boy this morning. Elliott was upset and crying so Luke brought over a puzzle to the boy so he would stop crying.

Lukey Bear

Luke has been referring to himself by his nickname for a few weeks. This morning I said, "Come on, baby, let's go upstairs."  He said, "I'm not baby. I'm Lukey bear."

2.5 years old

• Sleeps about 11 hours at night and takes a 2 hour nap in the afternoon
• He is in bed between 1930-2000 every night, has started getting up earlier by 0700 and runs out of his room ready to start his day. He runs to our room and asks, "Sleep good?" and then "Good night?"
• Likes picking out jammies (different each night) and asks for "jeans" when getting dressed 
• Naps from 1230-1500. I think he plays in his bed for a bit before getting up. 
• Loves singing, favorite song is Wheels On The Bus

• In March he started climbing out of the crib so we converted it to a toddler bed.

• A few favorite sayings: "What you doing? Aw, man."
• Names the different tractors and construction equipment (dozer, excavator...)
• Loves to do different animal sounds.....at Davis' tball practice he would go up to other parents and roar at them, then say Tinosaur or tiger. 

• Can ride so fast on the balance bike. He does good balancing!

The first three months of the not so terrible twos.

Brother is getting to be such a big boy!

• Sleeps about 12.5 hours at night and takes a 2 hour nap in the afternoon
• He is in bed by 7PM every night, wakes up around 0730 and plays happily in his crib until I get him at 0800.
• Naps from 1230-1500. I think he plays in his crib before and after naps. 
• Still a thumb sucker

•  Loves his pillow pet and carries it, taggie blanket and bear around the house.

We bought him little Pillow Pets to take on trips and to leave in Florida.

• I should have never asked our pediatrician about him not talking much. Ever since I mentioned it at his 2 year appt, he talks more and more every week!
• Loves ractors (tractos) and min nins (minions)
• Will yell "Mommy where are are you?" from his room!
• Loves to help unload the dishwasher, clean up, and push a kiddie cart at the grocery store
