Five months old

 

Allison nurses every 2-3.5 hours during the day. She will cluster feed (1-1.5 hours) in the evenings. At night, I wake her up 6 hours after the last feed and then she will go 5 more hours. She barely wakes up to eat in the middle of the night and goes right back to sleep. She woke up more during the night while we were traveling for Spring Break.

Allison sleeps 12-15 hours in a 24 hour period. I wake her up at 0755 to take Davis to school. She is ready for her morning nap by 0930 and will sleep about 2 hours. Her afternoon nap starts 1 1/2 to 2 hours after waking up from nap. I wake her up at 1500 to pick Davis up from school. She takes a short nap around 5. Most of the time she will either fall asleep nursing or curled up on my chest.

• Weighs just over 11 pounds (11 pounds 5 ounces on 4/5)
• Loves to sing
• Likes to look around and watch everyone

• Had influenza A....poor thing did not feel good for a few days

Five months old

Nurses 

• every 2-3 hours during the day
• longer stretch of 3.5-4.5 hours with his afternoon nap
• cluster feeds first thing in morning and evenings
• at night long stretch of 8-10 hours between feeds and then a shorter stretch of 3.5.5.5

 

 Sleeps

• Sleeps 13-15 hours in a 24 hour period
• Night will sleep 6-8 hours straight
• Morning and afternoon naps last about 1.5-2.5 hours
• In bed by 1930 and will be awake between 0630-0730
• When ready for bed, eyebrows and nose will be red. He lays his head down on your chest and sucks his thumb

Tidbits from this month: 

• Sweet boy lost weight from his 4 month checkup, weighs 12 pounds 5 ounces
• Wears 6 month clothes and size 2 diaper
• Has found his feet and can remove socks in no time at all

• Rather be held than at his stations between feeds, doesn't like the bumbo. He will stiffen his legs and try to get out

Five Months Old

Davis is sleeping 13-15 hours in a 24 hours period. At the beginning of this month Davis was up more during the night eating every 2-4 1/2 hours but by the end of the month he was back to sleeping through the night (usually 8-11 hours straight). We have him in a good routine in that he goes to bed between 1930-2000 and is up between 0730-0800. One day I will have to write down a typical day for us! Davis eats mostly every 2 hours during the day with one 3 hour stretch for nap time and only an 1 1/2 stretch in the evenings. When he was not sleeping well at night, we did supplement him after feeds but by the end of the month he was only getting one supplement a day before bed. He takes two naps a day, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. The naps can last anywhere from 40 minutes to 2 hours. Here are tidbits about Davis this month:

• Wears 3-6 months clothes (although some are huge!) and size 2 diaper
• Weighs over 13 pounds (not sure of the ounces)
• Laughs spontaneously at Bella or us.
• Finally big enough for the jumparoo
• Starting to notice and play with his feet
• Started going to the nursery at church
• Plays with hands

• Puts everything in his mouth






• Has several stations between feeds: Exersaucer, gym, tummy time.  bumbo, swing, jumparoo

Florida Bound

While Daddy is in Europe, Davis and I are Florida bound! It snowed for the first time the day we left.
