Four months old

 I can't handle the squinty eye smiles!

Allison nurses every 2-3.5 hours during the day. She will cluster feed (1-1.5 hours) in the evenings. At night, I wake her up 6 hours after the last feed and then she will go 5 more hours. She barely wakes up to eat in the middle of the night and goes right back to sleep.

Allison sleeps 13-15 hours in a 24 hour period. I wake her up at 0755 to take Davis to school. She is ready for her morning nap by 0930 and will sleep about 2 hours. Her afternoon nap starts 1 1/2 to 2 hours after waking up from nap. I wake her up at 1500 to pick Davis up from school. She takes a short nap around 5. Every single night she takes a 30 minute power nap around 1930 and then is wide awake until bedtime! She is ready for bed by 2130. Most of the time she will either fall asleep nursing or curled up on my chest.

Other tidbits from this month:

• At her 4 month well visit, weighed 10 pounds 13 ounces (1% for babies her age), 23 1/4 inches long (6%) and head circumference was 15.5 (15%).
• Moving into 0-3 month clothes. Wears size 1 diaper.

• Rolled tummy to back twice in one day and didn't do it again!

Four months old

Luke nurses every 1.5-3 hours during the day. He has a longer stretch of 3-4 hours with his afternoon nap and will cluster feed first thing in the mornings and in the evenings.

At night he has one long stretch between feeds (6-9.5 hours) and then a shorter stretch of 3.5-5.5 hours.

Luke sleeps 13-15 hours in a 24 hour period. At night he will sleep 6-8 hours straight! Most of the time he will go right back to sleep after nursing. He takes a morning and afternoon nap. Naps last between 1.5-3 hours. He will take a shorter nap in the late afternoon and is in bed by 2000.

At his four month appointment, weighed 12 pounds 15 ounces (7% for babies his age), 25.5 inches long (62%), and head circumference was 15 3/4 inches (10%).

Rolled tummy to back on March 28. Hannah saw it first the day before. It took a few weeks before I saw it. I would always find him on his back after his naps

Laughs spontaneously. The first time was when I was singing bedtime songs!

Loves to talk, especially when he is supposed to be eating. He is very distracted when it is time to eat. Most of the time I have to take him to his room to eat.

Likes watching Davis play

Does not like his car seat but loved golf carts ride at The Villages! He flew for the first time and did great on the plane.

Roll over

Luke has been rolling over from tummy to back for a few weeks. He does it when he is getting up from his naps. I have not actually seen him do it until this week!

Four Months Old

Davis is sleeping 12-14 hours in a 24 hour period. He still does great at night, sleeping 6-10 hours straight. He usually goes to sleep by 2100 and will wake up by 0700 for a feed. I nurse him and then put him back in his crib where he will either go right back to sleep or will play for a while and then go back to sleep. We usually start our day by 0900. By the end of this month, we have stretched his feeds to every 2-3 hours during the day though most of the month he was still eating every 1 1/2. Although he does great at night sleeping, the naps are all over the place. Sometimes he sleeps for only 40 minutes and other times it's a couple of hours. I hope to get in a better nap routine this month. Here are tidbits about Davis this month:

• Wears 0-3 months clothes (though long sleeves are getting too short) and size 2 diaper
• At his four months appointment, weighs 12 pounds 7 ounces (8th percentile), 25 1/2 inches long (72%), and head circumference is 16 1/2 (40%)
• Constantly moving and looking around, rarely sits still
• Makes razz (buzzing) sound
• Not a big fan of his car seat
• Loves stroller rides in the neighborhood and shopping trips in the ergo (but will scream in the check out line)
• Loves bathtime
• Goes from 0-60 while awake.....he will be laughing and smiling one minute and then crying the next. The same thing happens at nap time. He will be crying one minute and then sound asleep the next.
• Ticklish under his chin. Laughs loudly

• Sits in the bumbo while we eat dinner and drools looking at our food

• Scoots all over his gym, crib, and off his blanket

This is how I find him most mornings :)

• Grasps toys and puts them straight to his mouth.....loves his bendy ball

• Loves the exersaucer,. He will bounce in it and swivel the seat all around to get to his toys, watch TV or look at us. He is not a big fan of his gym or swing anymore
