2 Pledge Furniture Polish 2 for $7 = 7.00
3 Palmolive Antibacterial dish soap 1.99 for 0.99 SC = 2.97
I paid $35.66. I saved $13.00 in store coupons (SC), $3.58 in advertised store sales and $5.00 in manufacturer coupons (MC) for a grand total of $21.58!
I learned my lesson from last week and compared prices online to make sure the deals were actually a good deal. This time, Wal Greens was cheaper!

Couponing
One of the blogs that I read every day has recently started using coupons. Jenna has blogged about her finds and the savings are incredible! I was inspired so I went to by the gas station to get the local newspapers. I looked for coupons on groceries/essentials that I regularly buy. Once I had it somewhat organized I went to Wal Greens.
Here is a list of what I got and the deals:
Clearblue Ovulation Tests 7 ct: 26.39 (20% off) - 3.00 MC = 23.39
Clearblue Pregnancy Tests 2 ct: 11.99 (20% off) - 1.00 MC = 10.99
Tampax 20 ct: 2.99 sale - $1.00 MC = 1.99
Reynolds Aluminum foil: 3.79 - 0.80 Store coupon SC = 2.99
Tylenol 500 mg 100 ct: buy one get one free = 6.29
Memo pad SC = 0.49
Two packages of Gatorade 4 ct 20 oz = 2.99
Powerade: 3 for $3.00
I paid $55.88. I saved $4.27 in store coupons (SC) from the newspaper, $17.39 in advertised store sales, and $5.25 in manufacturer coupons (MC) for a grand total of 26.91! The one good thing about Wal Greens (Target allows it, too) is that you can stack coupons, meaning you can use the store coupon and manufacturer coupon on the same item.
After Wal Greens I decided to go by Wal Mart so I could see if I actually saved any money. Some of the advertised sales were still more expensive than Wal Mart :( For example, the powerade is 0.78, Reynolds Aluminum Foil is 2.98 for 5 extra feet of foil, Ovulation tests were 24.88 and the pregnancy tests were 9.77. Wal Greens only beat Wal Mart in Tampax. I thought about taking it back to Wal Greens but then I would still be without my manufacturers coupons. I'll just know for next week to make sure it is indeed a good deal.
I have kept track of my grocery bills and have compared Hyvee (local grocery store), Wal Mart and Target. Wal Mart is by far the cheapest for everything and it's usually the same exact brand so it is the same quality!
