Back to St Louis zoo

Monday morning we went back to the zoo. There were a few sections we had not seen on Saturday.

Polar bear....Davis was standing next to me as I was talking to the zoo worker about the polar bear. Later he repeated word for word what she said to Granny!

After the zoo, we went to Granny and Granddaddy's room so they could pack. Davis was still asking to go back to the Halloween spot for lunch so we went back to Hodak's. After lunch we dropped them off at a cathedral and headed back to Iowa!

The boys were asleep within minutes! We stopped at almost the 2 hours to run around some and potty.

 We stopped a hour away from home for dinner. We went through the drive thru at McDonalds. With our quick stops, the boys only getting out of their car seats once, we were home within 5.5 hours! Total miles for the trip was 1004.2 miles. We had a great time with Granny and Granddaddy!

Grant's Farm

We went to Grant's Farm on Sunday. We all loved it! We started off riding a tram to see all of the animals, the boys fed goats, watched an elephant show and got up close with a camel!

After lunch Luke and I went to Granny and Granddaddy's hotel room so he could nap. I set up the pack n play in the bathroom. He slept for two hours! Granny and Granddaddy took Davis to the mall. He was asleep within minutes so they both took a nap in the van in the mall parking lot!

Granny had an evening conference so Granddaddy, the boys and I went to Cracker Barrel for dinner! The boys and I all had cheeseburgers. We gave the boys a quick bath again and drove back to our hotel. Once again we were all in bed within 20 minutes and went right to sleep!

The next morning we had breakfast and then met Granddaddy at their hotel. We spent the morning at St. Louis Zoo.

We had lunch at Hodak's, dropped Granddaddy off and went back to our hotel for naps. When Luke got up we went back downtown and Granny was finishing up her conferences.

We ate dinner at Hodak's again. Davis loved it because it was decorated for Halloween. He kept asking to go back to the Halloween place. After a quick bath at Granny and Granddaddy's we went bsck to our hotel. The boys and I were all asleep within 20 minutes of getting to our room!

Meet me (Granny and Granddaddy) in St. Louis

Mom had a conference this weekend in St. Louis. The boys and I drove down and got to spend time with Dad during the day and we still got some time with Mom!

We left after 0800 on Friday morning. This was our first stop two hours away from home.

 

After some pictures by Davis Homes, a potty break and a refill of Luke's water we were on our way!

Our 2nd stop was 1.5 hour later (3.5 hours away from home). The boys enjoyed their cheeseburgers.

I filled up on gas and then we went to Huckleberry Park a short drive away. They played while I ate my salad and wrap.

When we left the park we were less than 2 hours away from St. Louis! The boys napped most of the way. 7 hours after we left the house, 5.5 hours of driving and only two stops we arrived in St. Louis! We arrived at Granny and Granddaddy's hotel and Granny was just finishing up her conferences for the day.

Someone proposed earlier in the day!

The boys and I were staying about 20 minutes away so we got checked into our hotel that night. The GPS said I had arrived at my destination so I pulled up to the lobby, loaded the luggage cart, parked the car and got the boys out to check in. The front desk clerk informed me our hotel was next door! So we went back to the van, unloaded the luggage cart again and drove next door!

Luke fussed for less than a minute and then went to sleep. Davis played for a bit in his bed and then wanted to sleep with me (we had two queen beds). He went right to sleep once he got settled into my bed.
