Nine months old

Allison nurses every 2-3 hours during the day. At night I wake her up 7-8 hours after the last feed and then she will go 3-4 more hours. 

Allison sleeps 12-14 hours (10 hours at night) in a 24 hour period. She has started waking up by 0700. Her morning naps are hit or miss now. Sometimes she will only sleep 30-45 minutes while nursing and then be up until 1130. On days she doesn't take a good morning nap, she will take a longer afternoon nap. Bath time starts by 1900 and she is ready for bed by 2030.

Other tidbits from this month:

• Weighed 12 pounds 10 ounces and 25.1/4 inches long. 
• Got 2nd bottom incisor tooth 
• Loves solids and is finally starting to feed herself (sometimes). 
• Eats whole milk yogurt and a banana for breakfast. Avocados are another favorite for lunch or dinner. Poor baby has to have prunes a couple of times a week.
• First word was Mama!!!!!!! She said when we were driving home from VBS and then again when I was feeding her!

• Belly laughed for the first time! Allison was in the stroller by Luke and he was throwing the ball to Bailey. She thought it was hilarious when Bailey fetched to ball!
• She loved Aunt Jen's dog Maddie!

• Not quite ready to sit up unassisted for more than a few seconds

• Liked the pool for a little bit on our trip to Florida!

• She was a trooper on our trip to Florida and did good during VBS.

Nine months old

 

 Eats:

• No longer nurses (much to my dismay) and bottle feeds 4-5 times a day. 
• Loves solids and feeds himself
• New foods this month: watermelon, pineapple, cantaloupe, broccoli and Sonny's BBQ

Sleeps

• 13-15 hours in a 24 hour period
• Hasn't slept through the night for most of this month. Usually wakes up in the wee hours of the morning and will go right back to sleep after a bottle. 
• Takes a late morning nap and afternoon nap. Both naps last a little over 1.5 hours. 

Tidbits from this month:

• At his 9 month appointment, weighed 17 pounds 5 ounces (11% for kids his age), 30 inches long ( 95%), and head circumference is 17.5 inches.(31%).
• Moved to 9 month clothes and some 12 month clothes, size 3 diaper
• Top middle tooth is poking through (2 on top and 2 on bottom)
• Started saying Mama (mostly when crying). Other words are Dada and Baba. 

• Plays so hard in the nursery and they always comment how happy he is!
• Loved the pool when we went to Florida

Nine Months Old

Davis is consistently sleeping 14 1/2 hours in a 24 hour period. He nurses and bottle feeds four times a day: first thing in the morning, after both naps, and before bed. He eats solids three times a day. He has started nursing well again (after I mentioned to the lactation consultant that I was so sad he was not interested anymore). His nap times are very consistent, usually by 0930 and 1330 he is down for a nap. He wakes up once in the late evening to have a quick bottle and is right back to sleep.

• At his nine month appointment, weighs 16 pounds 15 ounces (5th percentile for kids his age), 28 inches long (35%) and head circumference is 18 (64%)
• Eats everything that is offered to him: Introduced to broccoli, kale, turnips, watermelon and cantaloupe
• Started saying N's (Nananana). The voice setting must have been on while I was carrying my phone and him. He was saying Nana so my phone tried calling my friend H

Will not say Momma, when I say it to him he just grins and then says Dada or Nanana.

Does not like the vacuum or food processor. Will stick out his lower lip and just cry like the world is going to end

Didn't take him long to move on from crawling to pulling up on everything

• Gives kisses albeit slobbery but oh so sweet! Although when Daddy asks for them, he throws his head back and laughs. 
• Wants to be wherever Bella is

• Will crawl all over the house (and so fast). Goes from the kitchen to the dining room to the living room to the hallway to his room in no time flat!
• Thankfully when he gets tired he will finally stop exploring and tug on our pants to get picked up
• I never get tired of hearing the nursery workers tell me how happy he is and how his smile lights up his face (warms my heart to know he is that sweet to others)
• Does have occasional stranger anxiety. At Target the cashier was making a fuss over him and he just looked at me and burst out into huge crocodile tears. Once we walked away, he was fine.
• Loves going places and takes in all his surroundings

 

Pulling himself up

Oh, dear......definitely not satisifed with just crawling. He's been trying to pull up on everything for two days. He did it all by himself today!
