Lahaina

For the first three nights we stayed on west Maui in Lahaina. We stayed at a bed and breakfast called the Maui Guesthouse. The first night we were there we had a job offer to move there and help work at the guesthouse! They were looking for a young Christian couple but with no kids.

I woke up at 0300 (0800 our time) wide awake and, most of all, hungry! Later that morning we went for a walk around Lahaina along the trail by the beach. It was beautiful. We left for the day at 0850.

We did some shopping at Whaler's Village.

 
Then we took a short bus trip to a different shopping area and walked around some more before stopping for lunch.

 We asked the ladies at the guesthouse where a good burger place was and they recommended Cool Cat Cafe. The burger was as advertised, simply delicious!

We then walked around town some more, stopped at Maui Jim Sunglasses, and finally got back to the guesthouse. We were out for over 6 hours! We relaxed in the pool for bit and then got cleaned up for dinner.

Dinner was at The Plantation House Restaurant. It overlooks a golf course (the PGA tour has a tournament there) with an ocean view and we took our time so we could see the sunset. There was a wedding while we ate!
