Europe holiday

Our trip to Europe was wonderful. We left on Thursday afternoon and flew overnight into Amsterdam and finally onto Frankfurt. We rented a car and drove to Mannheim where we spent the night. Once we checked into the hotel we had supper and walked around downtown for a little while. It was rainy so we called it an early night. Unfortunately we slept for about three hours and both woke up starving. After all, it was supper time in the US. We were finally able to get back to sleep.





The photos above were taken in Heidelberg, Germany. This was one of the few cities that were not bombed in World War II. After a long walk through the city and a stop at Hard Rock Cafe we were on the way to Switzerland!





We spend the night in Interlaken, Switzerland. For supper, we had cheese fondue and meat fondue. It was delicious but we stopped at McDonald's just in case we woke up hungry. At the restaurant Jason played the swiss alpine horn.




The next morning we drove into the Alps and took a train to the Top of Europe. As you can see in the pictures above, it was absolutely beautiful! After spending the night in Lucerne, Switzerland we were hoping to take a gondola ride to Mount Pilatus but it was very windy that day so it was closed.

We then drove to Frauenfeld for the night since Jason had a morning meeting. Jason then had a meeting in Germany the next day so it was back to Germany. After his all day meeting we were onto Dusseldorf so we could fly to Finland. At the hotel in Dusseldorf there were parking spots reserved for the ladies.





The next morning we flew to Finland. After another meeting we had some down time in Helsinki, Finland. It was a nice day by Finnish standards so we walked all around the city.

After an overnight flight to Germany three countries, nine different hotels,, and nearly 24 hours in airports or airplanes, 140 pictures later we were finally back home!
